A significant amount of customers already have Puppet in their environment, be it the community version, or Puppet Enterprise (PE). You know Satellite 6 integrates with PE already, but let's assume you want to move an existing Puppet environment, including existing workflows, into Satellite 6, how would you go about doing that? In this session, we'll focus on a fictive customer, ACME Corp., that currently works with r10k and community Puppet, completely outside of Satelite 6. We'll describe and demo a few steps to gradually move their workflow into Satellite 6 to allow them to start using the scalability of Satellite 6 capsules. We'll explore reporting to Satellite 6 only, how we can integrate the use of Hiera into Satellite 6, working with Satellite 6 and r10k and eventually moving to a content view-based workflow for the production environments.
